Pentoxifylline
Indications/Uses
Peripheral arterial disease, cerebral circulation disorder, circulatory disorder of the eyes or internal ears, arteriosclerosis of lower limbs, lower leg ulcer & gangrene.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 400 mg tid. Maintenance dose: 400 mg bid.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Recent cerebral &/or retinal hemorrhage & acute MI.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ risk of hemorrhage, pregnancy, lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI upset, hypotension, edema, dry mouth/thirst, flu-like syndrome, rash, angioedema, angina, arrhythmia, tachycardia.
