Cefurim: Side Effects & Dosing

Indications/Uses

Gm +ve & -ve bacterial infections eg, resp & urinary tract, bone & joint infections. Gonorrhea.

Dosage/Direction for Use

IM/IV Adult 750 mg tid. Severe infections May increase to 1.5 g qid. Infant & childn 30-60 mg/kg/day in 3-4 divided doses.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

Penicillin-sensitive patients. Impaired renal function.

Adverse Reactions

GI effects, pseudomembranous colitis, hypersensitivity reactions, eosinophilia, neutropenia, hemolytic anemia, superinfections. Phlebitis.
