Indications/Uses
Acne vulgaris of face &/or trunk in patients from 12 yr, when many comedones, papules & pustules are present.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Before using the pump for the 1st time, prime it by pressing down several times until a small amount is dispensed (up to max 10 times). Apply thin layer to affected areas of face (ie, forehead, cheeks, nose, & chin) &/or trunk (ie, reachable upper back, shoulders & chest) once daily, in the evening, on clean & dry skin. 1 pump actuation should be enough to cover the face; 2 pump actuations for the upper trunk. 1 additional pump actuation for middle & lower back if acne is present.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy; women planning pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if a reaction suggesting sensitivity occurs; patient experiences severe reactions eg, erythema, scaling, dryness & stinging/burning & discontinue use if these reactions persist. Not to be applied to cuts, abrasions, eczematous or sunburned skin; chest or breast area of nursing woman. Avoid waxing on treated skin; contact w/ eyes, eyelids, lips or mucous membranes; excessive exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps or phototherapy during treatment. Use broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen w/ sun protection factor ≥30, & protective clothing over treated areas when exposure cannot be avoided. May cause skin irritation; burning sensation on damaged skin. Concomitant use w/ cosmetics or acne medications w/ desquamative, irritant or drying effects. Discontinue use during pregnancy or if patient becomes pregnant while on treatment; lactation. Childn <12 yr. Elderly ≥65 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Application site irritation & pruritus; sunburn.
Drug Interactions
Additive irritant effects w/ cosmetics or acne medications w/ desquamative, irritant or drying effects.
