Indications/Uses
In combination w/ MTX for moderate to severe active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adults when response to DMARDs including MTX has been inadequate; severe, active & progressive RA in adults not previously treated w/ MTX; polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis in childn w/ a body wt of at least 40 kg who have responded inadequately to previous therapy w/ MTX. Monotherapy or in combination w/ MTX for active & progressive psoriatic arthritis (PsA) in adults when response to previous DMARDs has been inadequate. Active ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in adults when response to conventional therapy has been inadequate. Non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-Axial SpA). Moderate to severe active ulcerative colitis in adults who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
SC RA 50 mg once a mth (same date each mth); should be given concomitantly w/ MTX. PsA, AS or nr-Axial SpA 50 mg once a mth (same date each mth). Ulcerative colitis Initially 200 mg followed by 100 mg at wk 2. Patient who have an adequate response 50 mg at wk 6 & every 4 wk thereafter. Patient who have an inadequate response May continue w/ 100 mg at wk 6 & every 4 wk thereafter. Patient weighing ≥80 kg Initially 200 mg followed by 100 mg at wk 2 then 100 mg every 4 wk thereafter.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Active TB or other severe infections (eg, sepsis, abscesses & opportunistic infections). Moderate or severe heart failure (NYHA class III/IV). Concurrent use w/ anakinra or abatacept.
