Anagrelide
Indications/Uses
Reduction of elevated platelet counts in patients w/ essential thrombocythaemia who are intolerant to their existing therapy or for whom other therapies are not considered appropriate.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 1 mg/day in 2 divided doses maintained for at least 1 wk. May be titrated after 1 wk, must not exceed 0.5 mg/day in any 1 wk. Max single dose: 2.5 mg.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not crush or dilute contents in liqd.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Moderate or severe hepatic & renal (CrCl <50 mL/min) impairment.
