Thiamine mononitrate (vit B1) 300 mg, pyridoxine HCl (vit B6) 300 mg, dl-α tocopherol acetate 100 IU, cyanocobalamin (vit B12) 1 mg, folic acid 1 mg
Indications/Uses
Vit B complex: Neuritis, neuralgia, polyneuritis, lumbago, cervical & shoulder-arm syndrome, rheumatic pains, herpes zoster, alcoholism, cardiac neuropathy, encephalopathies, & iatrogenic complications arising from INH, reserpine & phenothiazine therapy. Prevention & treatment of vit B1, B6, & B12 deficiencies. Aids in appetite stimulation & promotes proper metabolism of carbohydrates & proteins. Increases resistance to stress & meets nutritional needs for vit B1, B6 & B12 of pregnant & lactating mother, elderly, & those on special diet. Vit E: Treatment & prevention of vit E deficiency. Folic acid: Treatment & prevention of folate deficiency. Prevention of neural tube defects in offspring of women of childbearing potential & pregnant women.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Therapeutic 2-4 tab daily may be given until acute symptoms subside. Prophylactic 1-2 tab daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals to reduce GI discomfort.
Contraindications
Adverse Reactions
Vit B1: Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions. Vit E: Large doses may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain & other GI disturbances, & fatigue & weakness. Folic acid: Rarely, GI disturbances & hypersensitivity reactions.
Drug Interactions
Folic acid: Reduced plasma conc of phenytoin.
