Intranasal route only. Avoid contact w/ eyes. Local infections. Treat infections of nasal airways appropriately. Transferring patients from systemic steroid treatment to Flumist if there is any reason that adrenal function is impaired. Abnormally heavy challenge of summer allergens may necessitate appropriate additional therapy. Potential systemic effects eg, Cushing's syndrome, cushingoid features, adrenal suppression, growth retardation in childn & adolescents, range of psychological or behavioural effects including psychomotor hyperactivity, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression or aggression (particularly in childn). Regularly monitor height of childn receiving prolonged treatment w/ nasal corticosteroids. Avoid concomitant use w/ ritonavir. Increased risk of systemic side effects w/ other potent CYP3A inhibitors. Visual disturbance. Refer to an ophthalmologist for evaluation of possible causes if patient presents w/ symptoms eg, blurred vision or other visual disturbances after use of systemic & topical corticosteroids. Contains benzalkonium Cl which may cause bronchospasm; irritation or swelling inside the nose (prolonged use). Pregnancy & lactation.
