Sebagai pengontrol TD pd sejumlah kasus hipotensi akut (feokromositomektomi), simpatektomi, poliomielitis, anestesi spinal, infark miokard, septikemia, transfusi darah, & reaksi obat.
Larutkan 4 mL dalam 1 L lar dekstrosa 5% atau lar dekstrosa-NaCl 5%. Dosis awal 2-3 mL/mnt via infus. Dosis pemeliharaan: 0.5-1 mL/mnt.
Hipotensi akibat hipovolemia yg belum dikoreksi. Pemberian bersama zat anestesi siklopropan & halotan.
Dpt menyebabkan berbagai reaksi alergi termasuk anafilaksis atau asma pd pasien sensitif.
Iskemia, bradikardi, kecemasan, sakit kepala sementara, nekrosis ekstravasasi pd tempat inj.
Siklopropan & halotan, MAOI, antidepresan triptilin atau imipramin.
