Salbutamol sulfate

Indications/Uses

Relief & prevention of bronchospasm in bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis & in emphysema.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult 4-8 mg. Elderly 2 mg. Childn 6-12 yr 2 mg, 2-5 yr 1-2 mg. To be given tds-qds.

Administration

Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.

Contraindications

Patient on β-blockers, thyrotoxicosis.

Special Precautions

DM. Pregnancy, elderly.

Adverse Reactions

Fine tremor of skeletal muscle particularly hands, nerve tension, tachycardia, peripheral vasodilatation, headache.
