Paracetamol 500 mg, codeine phosphate 10 mg
Indications/Uses
Relief of mild to moderately severe pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 tab tds-qds, max: 8 tab/24 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Do not administer to patients who have previously exhibited hypersensitivity to paracetamol or codeine phosphate. Codeine: Childn <12 yr. Post-op management in childn <18 yr following tonsillectomy &/or adenoidectomy.
Special Precautions
Pregnancy & lactation. May impair the mental &/ or physical abilities required for the performance of potentially hazardous tasks eg, driving a car or operating machinery. Codeine: Avoid in adolescents 12-18 yr who have other risk factors that may increase sensitivity to the resp depressant effects of codeine (including hypoventilation). Should not be used in people of any age who are known to be ultra-rapid metabolisers.
Adverse Reactions
Lightheadedness, dizziness, sedation, shortness of breath, nausea & vomiting.
