Levodropropizine

Indications/Uses

Symptomatic treatment of cough in adult & childn >6 yr.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & childn >12 yr 10 mL tds, w/ at least 6-hr interval between doses. Childn >6 yr 1 mg/kg tds, total daily dose of 3 mg/kg.

Administration

Should be taken on an empty stomach.

Contraindications

Patient w/ excessive discharge of mucus, limited mucociliary function (Kartagener's syndrome, ciliary dyskinesia) or bronchorrhea. Severe liver dysfunction. Pregnancy & lactation.

Special Precautions

Serious renal insufficiency. Do not take >14 days. Childn <24 mth, elderly. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.

Adverse Reactions

GI disturbances, exhaustion, somnolence, dizziness, headache, numbness, faintness, decreased consciousness, palpitations, hypersensitivity reactions.
